Laptop refresh disposal is the retirement of the laptops a company replaces during a hardware refresh. Done well, old devices leave in the same waves as new ones arrive, data is destroyed before resale, working machines are bought (business laptops three to five years old usually recover 10% to 25% of their original price) and the rest is recycled with a certificate.
What we see most often.
Old laptops pile up. The new fleet goes out on time, the old one waits in a storeroom, and every month it waits it is worth less.
Management locks stay on. Devices still enrolled in Autopilot, Intune or Apple Business Manager, or with BIOS passwords, drop to parts value. Releasing them before pickup protects the price.
Data gets “handled” by a factory reset. A reset is not data destruction. Each drive needs verified erasure or physical destruction before anything is resold.
The plan, step by step.
- Share the list. An export from your device management tool (models, ages, condition) is enough for a first view.
- Free assessment and itemised quotation within 1 to 2 working days of the inspection.
- Payment before pickup for each wave, credited to your company account.
- Staged pickups that follow your rollout, under a Form 6 manifest each time.
- Data destroyed with licensed erasure software (an erasure report per drive) or physically, then working laptops are resold and the rest recycled.
