IT Asset Disposal for Pharma and Life Sciences.
Lab instrument PCs, validated servers and research laptops, retired only after records are safe, with destruction you can show an inspector.
PrivAce Technologies retires IT for pharmaceutical, biotech and research organisations across India: lab and instrument workstations, servers, storage and laptops. We work to your decommissioning procedure, so records are migrated or archived before a system is retired, and every drive is then wiped or destroyed, with an erasure report or destruction certificate.
Why disposal needs care here.
In a regulated lab, the risk runs both ways. Destroy a drive too early and you may lose records you are required to keep. Keep it too long without control and research data or patient data from trials is exposed.
US FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requires electronic records to stay accurate and retrievable throughout their retention period, and India’s revised Schedule M (notified 28 December 2023) adds computerised system controls such as access control, audit trails and backups. Neither tells you how to destroy media, but both mean decommissioning must be planned, not improvised.

The requirements behind a disposal policy.

- US FDA 21 CFR Part 11: Electronic records must be protected so they can be accurately retrieved throughout the records retention period. Retire systems only after records are migrated or archived.
- Revised Schedule M, Drugs Rules 1945 (notified 28 December 2023): Adds computerised system controls, including prevention of unauthorised changes, audit trails and backups.
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and DPDP Rules, 2025: Personal data on a retired device is still your responsibility. Failing to take reasonable security safeguards can attract a penalty of up to ₹250 crore. Most obligations apply from 13 May 2027.
- ISO/IEC 27001:2022, controls 7.14 and 8.10: Control 7.14 covers secure disposal or reuse of equipment, and 8.10 covers deletion of information. Certified organisations need evidence for both.
How we handle it for you.
Instrument controller PCs handled as data-bearing assets
Erasure reports and destruction certificates for QA and inspection files
Onsite destruction for research and trial data
Questions, answered.
Yes. Share the SOP and we align the steps, documents and sign-offs to it.
Only after records have been migrated or archived and QA has signed off. We schedule destruction after that point, not before.
Yes. Instrument controller PCs often hold raw data, methods and audit trails. Treat them like any other data-bearing asset.
