Most of the work in a Mumbai pickup is not the lifting. It is the building. Commercial towers in BKC, Lower Parel and Powai usually need a gate pass signed by the facility manager, a service lift booked for a fixed slot, and sometimes an insurance certificate from the vendor before entry. Older buildings in Fort and Ballard Estate have narrow staircases and no loading bay, so equipment is carried down in smaller batches.
We ask for these details when we confirm scope, not on the day. That is why a Mumbai pickup is quoted as 1 to 3 working days from a confirmed list rather than same day.
Monsoon matters too. Between June and September, every device leaves the building shrink-wrapped or boxed, because a wet motherboard loses resale value and a wet drive complicates destruction records.
In our experience, a business laptop that cost ₹80,000 to ₹90,000 new typically resells for ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 after three to five years. Where it lands in that range depends on condition, battery health, processor generation, whether it is locked, how well it was maintained and how many identical units you have. Dead, water-damaged or BIOS-locked machines fall to recycling value. We show the reasoning line by line on the quote.

A technology company in Andheri East spent about six months trying to sell its office IT. Scrap dealers quoted by the kilo, brokers promised a price and never came back, and nobody would accept desktops without their hard disks, which the client's policy required it to keep. We inspected the equipment, priced every desktop and monitor individually, and credited the agreed amount to the client's account before pickup. The client kept its drives, the RAM went with the machines, and the whole office was cleared in a single collection.
