Corporate IT buyback · Mumbai & pan-India

Those 200 laptops in your storeroom are worth money. And they’re a data breach waiting to happen.

We buy retired corporate IT, destroy the data first, and pay you before we load the van. Onsite at your premises or at our parent company’s MPCB-authorised facility: your choice.

  • Payment before pickup
  • Onsite or offsite destruction
  • Certificates on file
  • 497 cities across India
The short answer

PrivAce buys retired corporate IT equipment, laptops, desktops, servers, storage and networking, and pays before collection. Every device is assessed individually against current resale value, the data is destroyed before anything is graded for resale, and you receive documentation covering both the destruction and the recycling.

No minimum for an assessment. Reply within 1 to 2 working hours, and a written quotation within 1 to 2 working days of the free inspection. If the number doesn’t work for you, nothing happens and it costs you nothing.

The three questions

You’re Asking Three Questions. Here Are the Answers.

“What is this stuff actually worth?”

More than a scrap dealer will tell you, and less than you paid for it. A three-year-old i5 laptop with a working battery and a clean BIOS is worth real money. The same machine with a dead battery and a corporate lock is worth considerably less.

We assess device by device, generation, processor, RAM, storage type, battery health, physical condition, lock status, and quote against current resale value. You see the breakdown, not just a lump sum. If the number doesn’t work for you, nothing happens and it costs you nothing.

“How do I know the data is actually gone?”

Because you get proof: an erasure report for every wiped drive, or a Certificate of Destruction.

Software erasure runs on licensed Blancco and BitRaser. Degaussing for magnetic media. Physical shredding where the data sensitivity demands it, and note that SSDs cannot be degaussed, which is something a lot of vendors get wrong. Every method follows NIST SP 800-88 guidelines.

And if your information security policy says media cannot leave your building, we bring the equipment to you and your team watches it happen.

“What if the vendor takes my assets and disappears?”

That’s the right thing to worry about. It happens.

So we pay first. You accept the quotation, the money reaches your company account, and only then do we send a vehicle. You are never in a position where your assets have left and your payment hasn’t arrived.

How it works

Four Steps. Two Weeks, Typically.

1

Tell us roughly what you have

A rough count and rough age is enough to start. “Around 150 laptops, mostly 2019 to 2021” is enough for us to reply within 1 to 2 working hours and plan the free inspection. No inventory spreadsheet required at this stage.

2

We assess

For larger volumes we come to you. We grade condition and hand you an itemised valuation. You see how each number was arrived at.

3

You accept, we pay

Payment reaches your company account before any vehicle is dispatched.

4

Collection, destruction, documentation

Data destroyed to your chosen standard, at your site or ours. You receive erasure reports for wiped drives, a Certificate of Destruction, and for anything recycled, the Form 6 E-Waste Manifest and Certificate of E-Waste Recycling your auditor will ask for.

Nothing leaves your premises until the data is dealt with and the money has reached you.

Onsite or offsite

Your Drives Don’t Have to Leave the Building.

Banks, insurers and regulated firms often have an information security policy that forbids media leaving site. That is a normal requirement and we work to it.

Onsite destruction at your premises compared with offsite processing at our parent company’s plant.

Most engagements use both: drives from finance, HR and executive machines destroyed onsite, everything else processed at the facility where it can be assessed for value.

The paperwork

What Your Auditor Is Going to Ask For.

Two different things get confused constantly, so worth being precise: a recycling certificate proves your hardware was disposed of legally. It does not prove your data was destroyed. Those are separate documents and you should have both.

Objections

The Things People Ask Before They Call.

“We’re not in Mumbai.”

We run regular collection routes across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune. Everywhere else in India, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Kolkata and beyond, we handle on an assessment-and-quotation basis. Tell us where you are and we’ll tell you honestly what the timeline looks like.

“Our policy says drives can’t leave the building.”

Then they won’t. We bring destruction equipment to your site, your team witnesses it, and the certificates are issued before we leave.

“We only have thirty machines.”

That’s fine. Thirty is a real job, not a favour.

“We tried a vendor before and the paperwork never came.”

We hear this constantly. Ask us for a sample Certificate of Destruction before you commit: we’ll send the actual template we issue, not a brochure.

“How fast can this happen?”

Reply within 1 to 2 working hours. Onsite assessment usually within 24 to 48 hours in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune, a written quotation within 1 to 2 working days, and pickup within 1 to 3 working days of the agreed price.

Who we are

Who’s Actually Doing This.

PrivAce Technologies is the enterprise ITAD division of Greenlife Ewaste Recycling Pvt. Ltd.

That matters because most ITAD companies in India are brokers: they collect from you and hand it to someone else’s plant, and the chain of custody gets fuzzy at exactly the point you’d want it tightest. Processing runs at our parent company’s MPCB-authorised facility at Waluj MIDC, 660 MT per annum capacity, consent valid to 30 September 2028.

We follow NIST SP 800-88 guidelines for media sanitisation and work under an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified information security framework held by our parent company, Greenlife. Erasure runs on licensed Blancco and BitRaser.

If you want to see the facility before you commit assets to it, ask. People do, and we’d rather you did.

Get an Indicative Valuation.

Rough numbers are fine. We’ll reply within 1 to 2 working hours with next steps and what we’d need to firm up a price.

Valuation is free and carries no obligation. We’ll tell you if it isn’t worth moving: that happens sometimes and we’d rather say so than waste your time.

Privacy is literally our name. Your details stay with our team, are never sold or shared, and are used only to prepare your valuation.

10% to 25%of original price, typical for working business laptops aged three to five years

What your old equipment is worth

Working business laptops three to five years old usually recover 10% to 25% of their original purchase price. A ₹60,000 laptop at about three years old is typically worth around ₹15,000. A machine that cost ₹80,000 to ₹90,000 new usually fetches ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 after three to five years. The final figure depends on quantity, model and configuration, physical condition and how well the machines were maintained. Dead, locked or water-damaged units are worth close to scrap, and we still collect them.

The process

How the free assessment works

  1. Share photos and details

Send photos and a rough list: device types, brands, quantity, condition and location. WhatsApp is fine. No inventory spreadsheet needed.

  2. Free inspection

Our team visits to inspect the equipment and survey the site. The assessment is free, for companies and for individuals.

  3. Quotation in 1 to 2 working days

You receive a written, itemised quotation. Small lots are often priced on the spot.

  4. Price agreed, payment first

Once you accept, the agreed amount is credited to your account before anything leaves your premises.

  5. Pickup and certificates

We collect with a signed Form 6 manifest, destroy the data, and issue your Certificate of E-Waste Recycling within 7 working days.

Questions

Selling Retired IT, Answered.

Working business laptops three to five years old usually recover 10% to 25% of their original price. A ₹60,000 laptop at about three years old is typically worth around ₹15,000, and a ₹80,000 to ₹90,000 machine usually fetches ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 after three to five years. Quantity, model, condition and upkeep decide where in that range a lot falls.

You send photos and a rough list of the equipment. We visit to inspect it and survey the site, free of charge, whether you are a company or an individual. A written quotation follows within 1 to 2 working days of the inspection, and small lots are often priced on the spot.

Before. Once the price is agreed, the amount is credited to your account first. Pickup happens after the payment reaches you, so you never hand over equipment on a promise.

Within 1 to 3 working days of the agreed price, anywhere in India. The Form 6 e-waste manifest is signed at your premises before the vehicle leaves.

A business laptop that cost ₹80,000 to ₹90,000 new typically resells for ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 after three to five years, depending on condition, quantity and how well it was maintained. The same machine dead, locked or water-damaged is worth close to scrap. Value is driven by generation, processor, RAM, storage type, battery health, screen condition and lock status, which is why we assess device by device rather than quoting a per-kilogram rate. You receive an itemised breakdown showing how each number was reached, not a lump sum.

Yes. We perform onsite destruction at your premises with your security team present, and issue the certificates before we leave the building. This matters for banks, insurers and regulated firms whose information security policy forbids media leaving site. The alternative is offsite processing at our MPCB-authorised Waluj facility with the Certificate of Destruction returned to you. Both are available; you choose.

They prove different things and are constantly confused. A Certificate of Destruction proves the data on a device was destroyed, by which method, on what date, against which serial number. A Certificate of E-Waste Recycling proves the hardware itself was disposed of legally through an authorised channel under the E-Waste Rules 2022. A recycling certificate says nothing about your data. You should hold both, and any vendor who offers only one has not finished the job.

Yes. Condition changes the recoverable value, not whether we collect. Dead units, swollen batteries, water damage, missing drives and decade-old machines are all collected under the same documented process. This is a genuine difference from scrap buyers, who take what sells and leave what does not, which is exactly how storerooms end up holding dead equipment that still contains data-bearing drives.

Tell us at assessment. BIOS passwords, MDM enrolment and vendor locks all reduce resale value because the next owner cannot provision the device, so they affect the quotation. Where you can release the lock or unenrol the device from your MDM console before collection, the unit is worth materially more. Where you cannot, we still collect and still destroy the data: the value is simply lower.

They are dismantled and separated into material streams at our parent company's MPCB-authorised facility: ferrous and non-ferrous metals, circuit boards, plastics and cabling each routed to the correct downstream channel. Batteries and lamps are separated and handled under their own waste categories. You receive the Form 6 E-Waste Manifest at collection and the Certificate of E-Waste Recycling after processing.

Yes. We serve 497 cities across India. Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune are our regular-pickup markets with scheduled collection routes. Everywhere else in India, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and beyond, we work on an assessment-and-quotation basis. The destruction process and the documentation are identical wherever we collect; only the scheduling differs, and we tell you honestly what the timeline looks like before you commit.

We reply within 1 to 2 working hours. In Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune the onsite assessment is usually arranged within 24 to 48 hours (other cities by appointment), the written quotation follows within 1 to 2 working days, and pickup happens within 1 to 3 working days of the agreed price. The Certificate of E-Waste Recycling follows within 7 working days of pickup. Larger multi-site programmes are phased around your deployment schedule.

You are. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 the data fiduciary, the organisation that collected the personal data, remains accountable for it, and that accountability does not transfer to a disposal vendor along with the hardware. This is precisely why documentation matters: a Certificate of Destruction, with erasure reports for wiped drives, is the evidence that you discharged that duty.

Yes, and enterprise storage is among our higher-value categories. Rack servers, SAN and NAS arrays, Dell PowerScale and EMC Isilon, Hitachi VSP, tape libraries and LTO media are all handled. Storage systems carry far more data-bearing media than an asset register usually shows, so every drive is counted before removal and reconciled against the destruction record. See our data centre decommissioning page for the full process.
