E-Waste Recycling Companies in Mumbai: 10 Authorised Names and How to Check Them

Where this list comes from
Search for “e-waste recycling companies in Mumbai” and you get directories full of scrap dealers. This list starts from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board’s own register of authorised e-waste dismantlers and recyclers, filtered to the Mumbai region: Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Palghar. It is in no particular order, and we have included ourselves with a disclosure.
One caution. The MPCB list carries validity dates for each authorisation, and some entries on the published list have lapsed or are due for renewal. Always ask a recycler for its current consent letter before you hand anything over.

Most authorised recycling plants serving Mumbai are outside the city, in Vasai, Wada, Bhiwandi and Tarapur, because recycling needs industrial land and consent. Many companies keep a sales or collection office in the city.
How to check a recycler yourself
- Open the MPCB list of authorised e-waste dismantlers and recyclers and find the company by name.
- Check whether it is listed as a dismantler or a recycler, and its capacity.
- Ask for the current Consent to Operate and CPCB registration, and check the expiry dates.
- Make sure the name on the certificate you will receive matches the authorised entity.
Recycler, dismantler or ITAD company?
A dismantler takes equipment apart and sends components on. A recycler recovers materials. An ITAD company adds the part companies usually care about most: destroying the data, buying back what still works, and documenting every step. If your equipment holds data, start with that question, then check the recycler behind it. See ITAD companies in India for the wider field.
