The short answer
Corporate laptop recycling is the bulk retirement of company laptops through a documented process: collection, certified destruction of the data on every drive, assessment of any residual value, and responsible recycling of what remains. PrivAce handles all four stages and issues the documentation for each.
Working, non-working or mixed. Minimum five units, no maximum. Pickup is free across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune; elsewhere in India we assess and schedule collection.
The order matters: data first, value second
The single most important thing about a corporate laptop refresh is the sequence. Data destruction happens before anything is assessed for resale, and before anything is dismantled. Not alongside it, not afterwards.
The reason is simple. The moment a working laptop is set aside as "resaleable", it becomes an asset someone wants to move quickly. If the data has not already been destroyed by that point, the commercial incentive and the security requirement are pulling in opposite directions.
Our sequence is fixed and it does not change with volume:
- Collect and log — devices counted by type and condition at your premises
- Destroy the data — certified erasure or physical destruction on every media-bearing device
- Assess residual value — only on devices whose data is already gone
- Recycle the remainder — through an MPCB-authorised facility
What your laptops are actually worth
This is where most disposal quotes go wrong, and it is a genuine difference in how we work.
We do not price laptops by weight. Every unit is individually identified and assessed — model, generation, processor, RAM, storage, screen condition, battery health, whether it powers on. Two laptops from the same series can carry very different values depending on configuration and condition, and a batch quoted as a single per-kilo rate is a batch where nobody looked.
A weight-based quote is fast and it is almost always worse for you on a modern fleet. An assessed quote takes longer to produce and reflects what the equipment is actually worth.
Where devices carry meaningful residual value, that value comes back to you as asset recovery or through a corporate buyback. Where they do not, collection is still free.
Payment before pickup, not after
Once the assessment is complete and the valuation is agreed, the payment is made to your company account before the equipment is collected — typically several days ahead of the pickup date.
We do this because the alternative is the industry norm, and the industry norm is bad for you: hand over the equipment, then wait to be paid on a valuation you can no longer verify. Paying first removes that exposure entirely. You see the amount credited, then the vehicle arrives.
It also removes an awkward internal problem. Finance teams are rarely comfortable signing off the removal of company assets against a promise of future payment. When the credit has already landed, the approval is straightforward.
Non-working, damaged and very old laptops
Collected on the same terms. Condition changes the recoverable value, not whether we take it.
This matters more than it sounds. A scrap buyer takes what sells and leaves what does not, which is precisely how storerooms fill up with dead equipment that still contains data-bearing drives. A batch that goes out through a documented channel goes out complete.
Swollen batteries, water-damaged units, machines with missing drives, laptops that have sat in a cupboard for eight years — all collected, all documented.
The documentation you receive
At pickup: a signed Form 6 E-Waste Manifest recording what left your premises, when, and to which authorised recycler.
Where software erasure is used: the erasure certificate from the tool itself, provided on completion.
Where data destruction is in scope: a Certificate of Destruction stating what was destroyed, by which method, and when.
After processing: the Certificate of E-Waste Recycling, issued within seven days of pickup and often within three, depending on volume.

From five units upward, with no maximum. Bulk refreshes of several hundred units are run as a scheduled project, often in phases around your deployment of the replacement fleet.
Both. Working units are assessed individually for residual value after their data is destroyed, and that value is returned to you through asset recovery or a buyback. Units with no residual value are recycled through an authorised facility at no cost to you.
