Certificate of Destruction samples
Annotated, redacted sample reports so you know what a good certificate contains.
Learn moreHard drive wiping, degaussing and shredding for offices and data centres in Thane. Onsite or offsite, with a certificate for every job.
PrivAce Technologies destroys data on hard drives, SSDs, tapes, phones and laptops for organisations in Thane. Drives are wiped with verification, degaussed or shredded, at your premises or at the facility. Every job is recorded at handover and covered by a Certificate of Destruction.
Methods follow NIST SP 800-88 guidelines. Erasure reports are generated by recognised erasure software such as Blancco and BitRaser.
Thane companies often come to us with a backlog rather than a single refresh: years of retired desktops and loose hard drives in a locked room, with no record of what is on them. The priority there is to find every data-bearing device first, then destroy and document it in one batch.
We sort the backlog at collection, pull every drive and give you a single certificate covering the lot. That closes the open item on your risk register instead of leaving it for the next audit.
Degaussing only works on magnetic media. Flash storage needs a different method. This is the most common mistake we see in vendor proposals.
| Media | Verified software wipe | Degaussing | Shredding |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hard disk drives (HDD) | Yes, drive can be reused | Yes, drive is permanently unusable | Yes |
| SATA SSDs | Yes, with firmware-level erase | No effect | Yes, with a small shred size |
| NVMe SSDs | Yes, with sanitize or crypto erase | No effect | Yes, with a small shred size |
| Backup tapes (LTO) | Not practical | Yes, tape cannot be reused | Yes |
| Phones and tablets | Yes, factory reset on encrypted devices plus verification | No effect | Yes |
| USB drives and memory cards | Sometimes | No effect | Yes |
Onsite suits banks, insurers and any team whose policy forbids media leaving the building. Offsite suits larger volumes and lower urgency.

Learn moreCan a hard drive be used after degaussing? What cannot be degaussed?
Learn morePhysical destruction for drives that will never be reused.
Learn moreYes. Each drive is counted at collection, and the certificate is issued for that job. You get a record even if you never had one.
Yes. DVR and NVR hard drives hold footage and are treated like any other data-bearing drive: recorded, then wiped or destroyed.
Wiping overwrites or cryptographically erases the drive so it can be reused. Degaussing erases magnetic media with a strong magnetic field and leaves the drive unusable. Shredding physically destroys the media. The right choice depends on the media type and whether you want resale value.
Yes. The Certificate of Destruction states the media destroyed, the method and the date. Software wiping also produces a per-device erasure report.
Yes. Encrypted phones and tablets are reset and verified, or physically destroyed if you prefer.
